Welll- it's famous cuz it's been around for a long time. Our food was really good. Down home di wr food- and that's what I wanted. Our server was perfectly attentive- didn't interrupt us, gave us time, and so forth. I look forward ti going back.
Wish they had another larger table. Is only one there and it was filled as we are a family of 8. Loved everything there, food was excellent and service was impeccable. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely go here again
It’s probably been twenty years since I have stepped foot in this restaurant, thought we’d give it a whirl for takeout. I wish I had time to sit; this would be the perfect kind of diner place to write, or do some paperwork. Plenty of tables, and you could be left alone with your coffee or tea if you chose-but, I don’t have the time for that- I’ll put that on the bucket list. In the meantime, the order was nicely taken over the phone and ready when I got there. I was picking up for some else-order chicken tenders and fries - metered parking right out on the street and a lot literally across the street. Plenty of seating available, nice solid diner type menu chicken tender basket included 3 tenders.
The liver and onions is always so good and the waiter is always friendly and kind and even knows my order when I walk in. Great service, great food.
We love this place! The last time we went, My daughter and her friend had the belgium waffle, I had the meatloaf and my hubby had a burger and everything was so good! We have been here several times and have tried many menu items. Also, the cakes and pies are to die for! Delicious! The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is warm and cozy!
Was very impressed how the sausage and gravy tasted. Definitely taste like they made their own. The potatoes could have been better. The waitress was friendly and didn’t bother me by coming by the table every two minutes ya know!! The restaurant is very clean and organized so I recommend stopping by for a meal to find out for yourself.
Our waiter Juan was AMAZING!! I love how he was on top of it and made us feel welcomed will recommend to everyone! Food was fast and delicious.
Just had a delightful breakfast at The Historic Texas Lunch! For such a reasonably priced meal, I was truly impressed. The food was delicious and came out quickly. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. To top it off, the atmosphere was just lovely – bright, clean, and a genuinely pleasant place to start the day. I highly recommend checking out The Historic Texas Lunch for a fantastic breakfast that won't break the bank!
